At Irreverent Warriors, we believe that trust is earned, not assumed. Veterans, donors, partners, and volunteers deserve complete clarity about where their dollars go, how decisions are made, and how efficiently we operate.

That’s why we don’t just talk about transparency, we back it up with verifiable proof. Between our publicly available Form 990 and our externally conducted 2024 Independent Auditor’s Report, Irreverent Warriors demonstrates a financial structure that is both lean and mission-driven, ensuring that resources directly support the veterans we serve.

A Clean, Independent Audit With a Strong Opinion of Financial Health

In April 2025, ALI CPA, PLLC completed our Independent Auditor’s Report for the year ending December 31.

The results?

A clear, unqualified opinion, meaning the auditor concluded that our financial statements “present fairly, in all material respects” the financial position and operations of Irreverent Warriors.

This is the highest level of assurance an external auditor can provide.

The auditor also reviewed our internal controls, tested our financial reporting, examined our accounting practices, and assessed our compliance with U.S. GAAP and found no material misstatements, discrepancies, or irregularities across our accounting systems or financial statements.

This report verifies what we already knew: We run a clean, honest, and extremely efficient nonprofit.

The Numbers Tell the Story: Lean, Efficient, Impact-Focused

For the 2024 tax year, IW reported $897,034 in revenue, all from contributions.

Our expenses were structured in a way that reflects a deep commitment to veteran impact:

• Program service expenses: $731,855

• Management and general expenses: $43,647

• Fundraising: just $12,414

  
  

This means 94% of every dollar went directly into program services supporting Silkies Hikes, retreats, peer-support events, and other mission-critical activities.

Whether you review our Form 990 or the independent audit, the conclusion is the same:Irreverent Warriors is one of the leanest, most impact-efficient veteran nonprofits in the nation.

Confirming Our Mission-Driven Model

The audit reinforces what our supporters and participants experience firsthand:

• We operate with minimal administrative overhead despite managing national programming.

• Our payroll costs are extremely low compared to peer organizations. This is primarily due to our use of volunteer and hourly staff.

• With over 200 volunteer leaders across the country, IW leverages community-driven leadership rather than bureaucracy.

  
  

The audit’s Statement of Financial Position shows a strong financial footing with $416,918 in cash on hand and no long-term liabilities, positioning us for sustainability and responsible growth.
